mike + michelle

it was a day of love...
felt between friends, family, husband and wife.
i was so lucky to be apart of it all.

Michelle and Mike have been together for, well let's just say a FEW years, and when mike popped the question the planning began!  Everything that made this day special was a labour of love.  Michelle planned such a beautiful day and with the help of friends and family she completely pulled it off.
When Michelle asked me to capture the day I was absolutely thrilled...mixed with a ball of nerves.  I knew this was THE wedding to photograph! And with the abundance of wonderful photographers in the Okagangan I knew I had to up my game :)  Michelle is one of my closest friends and I wanted to do her proud.

Get ready for the longest post of pictures EVER.

Love you Michelle and Mike...enjoy your memories!   xoxo kailey

PARKER :: BABY

Little Mr. Parker graced my camera this week.

ohh he's such a special one because this is my BESTIE's Littlest Nephew.  Parents David and Rachel are nothing but a team for this little man!  The love they have for figuring out parenthood TOGETHER is incredible.  AND, Parker was simply wonderful during the shoot.  Shooting babies at 4 weeks usually presents many challenges...parker's was simply keeping the soother in.  So we would watch as he sucked away on his soother until he looked ready to let go.  Of course he was never ready to let go. So I had to be quick.  Luckily Parkers AUNTIE (and my bestie) was by my side pulling soother and sticking it back in. ha. is was quite the procedure.

David and Rachel, enjoy these special moments, they will fly by.  Hopefully the photos will help you keep his ity-bittyness in your memory always.
xoxo kailey

EMMERSON :: 5 months

WHEW! I'm a little behind on the monthly blog of my little girl. Don't worry the pictures are pilling up, but being in my parents basement leaves me with little internet access.

The last post i did was when Emmerson was 4 months, it was the last post in our appartment before we sold it.  I was sad to say goodbye to my lovely large bedroom with the fantastic south facing window.  However, after 4 months EMMERSON has been a baby of many changes!  By month 5 Emmerson was able to sit on her own! so that meant I could now photograph her OFF the BED woohoo!  I was super excited about this because my photos could now take on a different life.

You'll notice my photos are now more journalistic (is that a word?)  We can be more creative and really capture her changes in daily life.  I swear after month 4 they become different people.

BY Month 5 EMMERSON

1 was sitting on her own and was really wanting to stand
2 she started moving in circles and pushing back on her belly
3 touched grass
4 is one determined baby and is ready to be on the MOVE!
5 says MAMAMAMA and DADADADA...doesn't know what it means but she still says it!
6 is eating baby cereals

JACKSON :: baby

Meagan and I endured 4 years of university together.  4 Years of ups and downs, success and failure.  Being a fine art students forces you to put it all out there...there's no hiding your feelings in art school.  So i guess you could say we became close friends.  Really I couldn't have gotten through without her...our studios faced each other...and it was comforting for me to know she was there.  When Meagan told me she was expecting a wee little one I was beyond joyed.  Meagan has a humongous heart, and i knew she would make a super fantastic mama.

THEN, Meagan asked me to take photos of little Jackson and my heart kinda skipped.  Going back to art school, it was Meagan's approval of my work that gave me confidence! If I made something horrible...well lets just say I could see it on her face haha. AND...if Meagan liked it then I knew it was good.  THE PRESSURES ON!

The few weeks after Jacksons birth were stressful for this new family. Jackson was born with a rare condition that will require some attention.  He will be GREAT he just needs some extra loving care.  I can only imagine the feelings this family went through after his birth.  But i know that Meagan and her husband Josh will have the strength, love, courage and patience to be the best parents for this perfect little man.

Needless to say our photo shoot was pushed back a couple of weeks.
So here's 4 week old jackson...the cutest little thing...teeny tiny and totally alert...monkey didn't want to sleep...until i put him in the fur. ahah. Best faux fur I ever bought.

Meagan AND Josh...enjoy your little man (and your photos).  This time will fly by and really you will never remember how teensy he once was :)
