Emmerson ~ 2 Months

Well here we are 2 Months already. If you read my last post you'll notice i said that time wasn't really flying by...well time is starting to FLY.  Emmerson is 2 months already and I feel like I've known her FOREVER. GOSH I love her!  Nights are getting better.  We're on to 4-5 hour stretches YAY!!!  And let me tell ya, after 5 straight hours of sleep I feel like I can run a marathon HA.
So needless to say things are getting easier.  I was getting a little worried that i would NEVER sleep again.  Not to mention the Hormones...OHHH the hormones. 
But here we are month 2 going on 3 and you learn A LOT.  The book THe Baby Whisperer has been a HUGE help and has got us on a routine where Emmerson is actually sleeping a bit during the day.  The month and a bit where she didn't nap was CRAZY, i couldn't leave her side!  But my sanity is returning and I'm feeling like myself again, but boy is this ride WILD.

Here's what I've learned about Emmerson this month. 
1. her greatest smiles happen around 7 am :)
2. i mentioned last post that she moans while she falls asleep. well this is still true and its the opposite when she's waking....thats right she GRUNTS when shes waking...loud long grunts like shes fighting a battle, ha.
3.  Emmerson LOVES being on the floor.  She stretches right out and kicks kicks kicks.  I think she might be a soccer player. 
4. It wont be long before she's in her jolly jumper...i think she's gonna love it.
5. A few weeks ago Emmerson rolled from her tummy to her back.  She lifts her head high and over she goes.  She's close to rolling from her back to her tummy.  SHE is SOOO strong.
6. She's starting to coo and make noises at you...yup we have full on conversations in baby :)
7. She's got her daddy rapped around her little finger...he's in love (which makes me love him more).

2 month ~ sneak

1 month new

My Baby is One month old!
So I've made it a goal to photograph my babe each month...sorry for those of you not in baby mode but you can probably guess that my blog will probably consist of baby baby baby. 

I can't believe she's a month old...well that's kind of a lie.  It's been long days and even longer nights...my babe doesn't sleep.  Myth 1- all babes do is sleep...hah LIEs!  My babe is wide awake most of the time, bright eyed, not missing a thing.  I seriously have no idea how single mothers do it. I could NOT do this without my hubby.  There was no question in my mind that he would be a great father...but he has honestly blown my mind...I could not have survived this first month without him!

So month One...here's what i know about miss Emmerson.
1. She does not want to miss a thing...grandma calls her "snoopy" and "bright eyes"
2. She eats with her back arched...this little one is STRONG-she held her head up the very moment she was out of the womb
3. She moans when she's falling asleep...the cutest thing ever
4. The brow furrow is a look I get a lot
5. She's a cuddler...no swing no bouncer...in your arms is just fine.
6. She enjoys her bath-and by enjoy i mean she doesn't cry :)

HAPPY JANUARY

My GREATEST Accomplishment

Though I havn't blogged much about my pregnancy I am beyond excited to share my GREATEST accomplishment!!! Miss Emmerson Anne emerged into our world December 10th...only 4 days past due...and she is beyond anything i could have ever imagined.  I wont go into details about the labour but man oh man...i am still unsure why people decide to have another...everyone keeps saying you forget the pain but BUT i still remember ha...only time will tell i guess.

So...i know you all assume that since i LOVE taking photos that this little girl would be photographed everyday. Different settings, positions, wordrobe changes galore. WELL....I can honestly say its just not as easy photographing your own child.  Maybe it's my child...who hates to sleep :) PLUS it was quite an adjustment our first week as mother and daughter that photos were just not high on my priority list.  But one day, during our first week, i found my opportunity. Quick as it was, she was not crying or feeding...she wasn't sleeping either but hey...i quickly made the bed (with one hand..see not easy) and snapped a few shots. 

Though it wasn't the photoshoot i had hoped for with an easy, managable, manuverable, sleeping baby I was able to capture her BRIGHT eyes.  And i am sure there will be many more shoots to come. 
Just me, my camera and my amazing little girl.

ITS ALL IN THE DETAIL!

A great friend of mine was married back in September and I was lucky enough to be a guest.
I love love love being a guest at weddings...especially when it's someone I love to pieces.  I can just sit back, relax and BE IN THE MOMENT!  So thank you Lauren letting me enjoy your day!

But come on...lets be realistic here...how could i not capture some of the details of the most beautifully put together wedding i have EVER seen. I mean honestly...the pictures WILL speak for themselves...every detail was FLAWLESS, thoughtful, and perfectly executed!

A huge shout out the the mother of the bride Maria! This woman either WAS OR WILL BE a wedding planner in another life.  The time and dedication put into this day was no doubt due to her.  There was vision boards, lists, calendars, more lists and more vision boards...and a garage full of wedding'ness'.  It was amazing to watch mama maria, what i think was, IN HER GLORY!!!

Being on bed rest is really paying off.
Up at hours of the day when everyone else is sleeping has become a work time. Time to get things done and time to edit photos.

As i await the arrival of my little one I was more than thrilled to be editing these photos...even if it is at 3 in the morning :)
This little girl is perfection. that's all. PERFECTION.
